Outstanding debt
An outstanding debt can be pursued for up to 6 years from the date it became due. Acting quickly and instructing a solicitor early may be more cost effective for you in recovering the sums due to you, which may include interest. Quite often pre action correspondence from a solicitor is sufficient to receive the debtor’s full payment (or to agree a repayment plan acceptable to you) without the need for a formal legal action.
